* CanSkaters must have an adult in attendance at the arena during their lesson
o Parents are not to be on the ice
o If you must leave the arena while your child is on the ice, please make arrangements for someone else to be responsible for your child. If a child is hurt or upset, the club coaches will be looking for their parent.
* All skaters must use the dressing rooms provided to avoid crowding in the foyer.
o Check the area before you leave for any personal articles. The arena does have a lost and found box and it is always full.
* Always check the white board as you come into the arena

* What to wear
o Helmets are strongly recommended (Please choose a well fitting helmet of any type)
o Hockey or figure skates that fit well (make sure the laces aren’t too long)
o Warm layers that allow child to move freely (jeans or snowpants are not recommended)
o Gloves or mittens (an extra pair is a great idea)
o Warm, dry socks or socks and tights

Qualifications
Intermediate Ice: (Canskate Stage 5) Private lessons with a Professional Coach are optional but strongly encouraged.
Senior Ice: You must be enrolled for private lessons with a Professional Coach and you must have passed your Junior Bronze Dance and Preliminary Skills or be high school age.
Good conduct on and off the ice are a must.
If this rule is not followed the student may be asked to leave the program without a refund.
o If for any reason you are getting off the ice, let your coach know.
o Do not loiter on the ice after a fall... keep moving.
o Jeans are not appropriate attire.
o Bobbie pins and other loose hairpins are not allowed as they create a serious hazard.
o Food is not allowed on the ice. This includes chewing gum! Drinks are permitted on ice. Please keep in the players bench area
o Skaters and their parents should not interfere with a coach and/or student during a lesson.
o When a skater's solo music is being played, move aside for that skater.
o Music will be played for coaches first in order of coaches request. On sessions with shortened ice time music will be played according to list in music room with no requests.
o Foul language is unacceptable on the ice or in dressing rooms. You will be asked to leave the ice after one warning.
o Be respectful of all coaching staff and fellow skaters.
o Dressing rooms will be left clean after each session.
o Conflicts between skaters should be brought to the attention of the Coaches and/or executive members.
o Coaches and the music person have the authority to ask skaters to leave the ice.
o Test permission forms must be filled in and payment made.
o There will be a social fee added to the cost of the tests in the amount of $5.00.
o A permission form is required from your home club test chairperson before you will be allowed to try a test at another club or compete at a Skate Canada Competition.
